A QR code is a machine-readable code consisting of an array of black and white squares, typically used for storing URLs or other information for reading by the camera on a smartphone. QR stands for quick response. It is different from a standard barcode in that the data is stored in both directions and can be scanned vertically OR horizontally. They are mainly used for providing quick links to websites, but have a variety of more complicated uses when combined with other functions such as providing more information or then comparing similar products.
