We actually, much of this applies to any app reporting that your password is incorrect, but we will base it on Google as every now and again it happens on our tablets.
Online google says:
“There are several reasons why you might see see a “Password incorrect” error when signing in to Google using third-party apps like iPhone’s Mail app. In some cases even if you type your password correctly.”
But in the list of options it neglects the fact that you may have forgotten your password. On your tablet, it give you the option of password recovery which takes you on to the internet (so you need to be connected) to this page: https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery?hl=en . Enter your email address. press next and then enter the last password you remember. If that was correct, then Google will send you a message to your recovery email address. The message will contain a verification code which you enter on the next screen. If all is well, you will now be presented with a create new password screen where you can enter new details.
The most important point here is that having a recovery email address means that you need never be locked out!
