The Samsung Browser

Labelled Internet this is the browser which comes with many Samsung tablets.  It is not the only browser.  Find out more about browsers at www.whatbrowser.org Google’s Chrome is a very common browser. Edge is the new browser from Microsoft and Firefox is a freely produced one.

The Samsung browser is a lightweight and efficeint browser with limited controls making it easy for everyone to use.

Note the tabs at the top of the screen and the + symbol enabling you to open a new tab.  When you do so, your most  visited pages are listed. Tapping between each tab takes you to that page.

The white bar below the tabs allows you to search or up in a web address (URL)

The star allows you to quickly bookmark a page.  Bookmarks can then be accessed through the little flag on the right.  Pressing and holding on those entries enables you to edit them.

 

 

Exercise 1: please remove all bookmarks to barmbymoorboot-it.org.uk

Exercise 2: navigate to boot-it.org.uk and create a new bookmark for it

Exercise 3: navigate to: https://unsplash.com/ choose two screen backgrounds and save/download them.

Bookmarks

Tapping the bookmarks flag brings up 3 tabs, Bookmarks, History and Saved pages.  Each of these may be available on your device, or on any of your installed accounts on the device.

  • creating a folder
  • changing the order
  • editing the bookmark – deleting it

Settings

Tapping settings brings up a variety of options including:

  • clear the cache
  • set the home page
  • labs
