Many older tablets come with two apps from Google, one called Gallery and the other called Photos. Newer devices may not have Gallery or may have a proprietary version of Gallery.
Gallery, although still used, is supposedly being superceded by Photos.
When you open the Google Photos app, you’ll see all the photos and videos on your device and, if you’ve turned on “Back up & sync”, anything else synced to your Google Photos library. Back up and sync saves your photos to your Google Photo library. You can turn this feature on and off from the menu item.
To see what has been backed up:
- At the bottom of the Google Photos app, tap Photos
.
- Photos and videos that are not backed up will have this icon
.
There are a wide range of settings that can alter the way items are backed up. You can delete items from your device once they have been backed up to free up space on your device.
Take a phot of yourself and set your background screen.
