Flipboard

Flipboard is a social-network aggregation, magazine-format mobile app localized in more than 20 languages. The software collects content from social media and other websites, presents it in magazine format, and allows users to “flip” through their  feeds and feeds from websites.  Effectively it is you own personalised compendium of magazines and media.  Instead of having to look through loads of “magazines”, you can choose topics that then get pushed to your tablet.

You begin with Flipboard by selecting at least five topics from a list of over 32,000. You browse topics by scrolling through an extremely long list or by keying a term into the search box. Once you’ve made you picks, Flipboard begins building your personalized magazine. Note: You can create an account which allows you to see your personal magazine on different devices.

By default, your custom-built digital periodical features a lead image and headline (depends on what device you look at it on), as well as a small list of featured stories in the upper-right corner. Swiping from left to right opens an elegantly designed, panel-laden screen with sections for your selected topics, Flipboard Picks (staff favorites), and Inside Flipboard (staff editorial). You delete a panel by tapping and holding it and dragging it to Flipboard’s trash can.

Drag the Flipboard Widget onto your home screen and configure it.
