Google provides a wide range of apps, many pre-installed on your tablet or phone. Apple does the same.
Two of these are Play Books and Play News (Android) and Newstand and iBooks (iOS). These come pre installed on your devices. You can also get google play books as an app on the iPad/iPhone.
Download a free book and see how to navigate the pages. Check the settings options to see what you are comfortable with. Not able to download a book? You need to have an account with credit to download (even free books). Check out how to do this.
