Google Cloud Print allows you to connect your printer to the internet and then enable different devices to print to it. You have to have a gmail account to set it up..
It’s a simple process of following the online instructions. Once your printer is registered, you simply invite people (email addresses) to share the printer.
Many modern printers use the facilities of Google Cloud Print for easy connection or have their own system:
- How to register a printer to Google Cloud Print
- Connect your classic printers with Google Cloud Print (requires Google Chrome to be installed)
There are a number of clever apps for printing to any printer nearby… but inevitably the frre versions are limited: DirectOffice print, Printershare
There are now a large number of brand specific apps available to download.
