Picasa

Picasa is an image organizer and image viewer for organizing and editing digital photos, plus an integrated photo-sharing website. It has been owned by Google since 2004.

It is not an app for android or iPhone or windows 8 but is is a program which can be downloaded onto your computer (including Windows 8).  Because it is an organiser, it sort of forms part of Google+ photos and so if you have Google + you have it already (or as much as you’re going to get on your tablet).

This is what Picasa does:

  1. Transfer photos from camera to computer
  2. Delete the bad, rename or caption the keepers
  3. Organize the photos with folders, albums, tags, faces and places
  4. Find and View photos on your computer
  5. Edit pictures; make them look better with single-click easy features that rival much more complex photo-editing software
  6. Prepare and Resize pictures for use in other programs
  7. Share via Print, Email and Websites
  8. Back them up!

Picasa does all of the above.  It is the only software you’ll need to manage your photos on a day-to-day basis.  The only thing it doesn’t do is serious editing and drawing like removing a person from a photo, or adding a bird to the sky, or drawing a logo.
