Using Google Drive with your Android tablet

Your android tablet is linked to one (or more) google accounts and consequently you have all the benefits of using google at your fingertips.

There are many features that you can use from your google account on a PC as well as on your tablet.

Your tablet should already be linked with a Google account.  If you know the password of the google account linked to the tablet, you can access the drive from any computer.  This means that you can drop a photo or text into the drive from your home computer and pick it up on the tablet.  On your computer, simply log into the google account associated with the tablet.

Get started with the Drive app for Android

  • Check that google drive is installed – tap
  • Install Google Docs app
  • Install Google sheets app
  • go through the product tour
  • try the different views
  • check the menu options

View and create Google Docs on Android

  • Create a document, save it.
  • Scan an image or document to .pdf
  • share it

It is useful to check that apps and picture are backed up/synchronised  on the google account at the play store.  The only apps that you need to check on are those installed by yourself.  The ones that came with the tablet are built in.

check that photos are syncing and that your personal apps are on the playstore.
